Systematic Review Service

Partnering with MSK community members interested in systematic and related reviews

Your First Meeting with an MSK Librarian

In your initial meeting with an MSK librarian, you will:

  • Determine if the project is suitable for a systematic review or if a different review type would be more appropriate.

  • Clarify your topic, including your inclusion and exclusion criteria.

  • Review what is required of a protocol, along with plans for your protocol’s completion and registration.

  • Establish which databases will be searched and if any supplemental searches (e.g., clinical trial databases, government documents, cited/citing references) will be undertaken.

  • Decide whether your search will include any restrictions (e.g., dates, language, publication types) and the reasons for these decisions.

  • Agree on a timetable for search completion and result delivery.

  • Explore using Covidence to manage and track your review process.

  • Discuss target journals for article submission and review if they have any requirements.
